Gorgeous pink and sparkly Bag

It has been a close run thing this month (with all my makes, must get my act together..) but last night I did manage to complete this for the November Amy Butler challenge on U-Handbag.

My sewing machine and I ended up in the living room on the coffee table at 10.30pmish in a desparate bid to get it finished. I have had the fabrics for some time but never found the right project until now.
The bag looks good with the drawstring undone as well as tied. I decided to change the inside by adding a divider therefore creating two internal sections.

I thought that you might like to see a close up of the fabrics and trims that I used. The bottom piece of fabric I picked up at an Embroiderers Guild meeting ages ago as part of a mixed bag in the bring and buy sale. The bead fringing I did buy for the project because I could not resist them, I also felt that the overall style of the bag needed something on the bottom edge and this fringing was it.

Half-term for Sophie and I is now over but that has not stopped my little one from creating pictures..
It is amazing how far some black paper, collected leaves, silver and gold paint will go. The floor seemed the best place and Sophie put the paint on the back of the leaves and then used them to print onto the black paper. They came out very well and once the paint had dried the leaves looked lovely and very festive. Might try printing with fabric paint onto white fabric next. leaves with prominent viens work very well for this. Youngters also have fun in finding suitable leaves when out for a walk.
I have started the tutorial which is a little project to make for the children or could be tackled by older kids.
Ballet break this Saturday so off to buy the final piece of the outfit and we are now ready for the next lesson.
When she tried it all on and started dancing around the living room Mummy did get a little soppy and could not believe that it is her 5th birthday next week.

Thanks for visiting my site and I wanted to return the favor. I love your little bag here. So cute! I wish I could sew better but I'm practicing. Best wishes on your recycling plastic bags too. I hope you and the students enjoy their projects.
