Sophie's Blog Update

Hi,

Just a quick post to let you all know that Sophie has added to her blog.  She has not added anything since April due to school, ballet shows etc but if anyone, young or old likes loom Bands then the next few posts will be featuring what she has made over the past few weeks.

I am trying to add a few features to the side bars but since setting mine up in 2007 much has changed.  

She spent ages on this yesterday and has learnt a lot about uploading pictures, using the template, spelling etc.  So if you have a spare minute perhaps you could pop over.

Sophie's First Tutorial - Beaded Brooch

Last Thursday Sophie and I sat down and she carefully showed me how to make the above beaded brooch using small safety pins and some seed beads.

I happen to have some purple safety pins and I do not know why (?) plus some seed beads which have been hanging around for years and used for so many little projects.

If you can do the above then you can make these brooches.

Sophie made the two green ones at Guides plus the red and blue one shown above.

I am sure that you could make these with bigger safety pins and larger beads so that younger children could do this activity.

Sophie sat down with a piece of paper and carefully worked out the instructions and even took apart one of the green brooches so that she could take step by step pictures.  Then sat down and typed it up after I showed her how to upload the pictures.  It looks pretty good for a first attempt and definitely one of those slushy Mummy moments.

Mouse Cottage Crafts - Followers badge added

I have added a followers button to my daughters new blog if anyone would like to click on it.  I have had my blog since 2007 and it has gradually evolved over the past 6 or 7 years and I did not realise just how much I have on it.  So I am adding bits to her blog and we are creating a mouse so that she can have a profile image which goes with the blog name.  The diasy picture is just temporary as starting the blog on Monday was a little spur of the moment as the summer holidays was the original plan.  

Many thanks to those of you who popped over and said hello.  The smile on her face was tremendous!
