Project 1 of 2009

I started this at the end of November and was put to one side as Christmas and birthdays took over.
It has been knitted using Sirdar 'WOW' wool. It is like a chenille wool and is very thick, like knitting with rope! It is a rich navy blue and I have taken loads of pictures in different places and still can not capture the true colour of this bag. I settled for outdoor shots in the end.
I have used blue acrylic handles which I already had in my stash. A bit of an impulse buy some time ago.

I used Moss stitch which is one of my favourites since learning how to do it last Easter on my chunky red bag.

The bag needed lining so I used some navy blue poly/cotton as I did not want anything too thick and it was a much closer colour match.

I felt that the front of the bag lacked a little something. So I looked through my organza pile and made a corsage to pin on the front. It is completely detachable and finished with a blue felt backing. There is a brooch pin which will enable it to be worn on a coat etc.

I really enjoyed seeing this bag develop and I really did make this as I used my own pattern. Once I have tried to take more/ better pictures it will be listed in one of my shops. Not sure which one to put it in yet.

The corsage was really fun to make and I think that I feel the need to make a few more!

Take care.xx

PS. It has gone into the Folksy Shop.
