Kindle Books

A village feud by Rebecca Shaw is much more gritty than some others in the series set in Turnham Malpas.  There is even a murder for which, as the reader, you are a witness to.

The village store comes under attack and the more unpleasant side of human nature is looked at. Not so many of the village characters appear in this book as it seems to focus and a few small groups.  Did make it little less confusing than with some of the other books.
I really enjoyed it and it has been along time since I have been able to sit and enjoy a book and read it in just over a week.
The next one is in fact on my kindle and I think is called The Village Green Affair.  Did Miss Read have a book with a similar title?  Not sure.  Anyway, hope everyone in the UK is enjoying this glorious weather and I shall ignore the fact that it might be changing on Tuesday and I shall have my boots back out again!
Take care.

March/April 2013
I have read this book before and over 12 years later I decided to read it again.  It still had me gripped to the end, and ending which I had totally forgotten.  I will even confess to having stayed up way past my bedtime to get a few chapters in.  If y have never read this book by Daphne Du Maurier then do give it a try.  I think it is possibly one of her best as I have always had trouble settling into Rebecca despite loving the idea of the book.
I think next I shall re-visit Frenchman's creek which I borrowed from a friend, also about 12 or 13 years ago.  I also liked reading in on my kindle as I really am tying to avoid buying too many books to clutter up the house.  Although my next book will indeed be a paperback which I have had waiting for quite a few months.

This is also featured on my page of Books read but I then realised today that it was also my first Kindle book.  As I said on the other page, it is a fun easy on the brain kind of read and it is the 2nd of two books.  I do not think that I will read the first one but I will keep and eye out for other books by the same author.

My next book was a bit more gritty and despite a bit of a slow start I got really hooked on this.  It involves British agents, spies, assassinations, dodgy people and a story that does twist and turn.  It was in the bargain section for Kindles and it was well worth the money.  I am also on the look out for more books by Chris Ewan.  I will do a much bigger post on this too.
