Crazy Patchwork Workshop

Now that I have worked out how to sync my photos I hope to follow up all of my workshops with details and images.
We started off the session by learning what crazy patchwork is and how it could be created.  there are many ways of doing this but this was how I decided to teach it today.

We began by checking our machines and then constructing a small square sample using scraps that I had brought to the class.

We then backed them and they all became lovely coasters which can be used at home or at work.

Pictures are on my phone hence the slightly different shape.

We then moved on to deciding what to make next.
There was a choice and two ladies decided to use the pre-cut Moda squares to make the 9 patch cushion because they had never made one before but would re-visit the crazy patchwork another time.

This is made with lovely Moda fabric and looks a treat on her new sofa which was delivered today!

This is another Moda pack from a new shop in Truro along Lemon Quay Market.  I have yet to visit this shop but I love this colour scheme so I may have to go!

Diana decided to go back to the Crazy Patchwork and make a cushion cover with the left overs from the bunting workshop last summer.

Penny is going to be a Granny so patchwork baby mat was started.
I liked the fact that several different ideas were tackled and as confidence grows I think this will increase.

Thank you ladies for signing up and coming along and i hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
Next up on 12th March is a new group for the Beginners Sewing Class and getting to grips with your sewing machine.

Have a good weekend.

Send a little Love Swap - I recieved.............

This is the lovely parcel that was sent to me by Stephanie.
The little basket is already in use on my desk.
The gorgeous fabric is sitting patiently for a new project.

I am looking forward to trying out the Clover fabric heart maker.  I have a couple that make round Yo Yo's but not a shape like this.

Plus a brand new tape measure which I was quite desperate for so very timely and some crisps.
Finally a length of fabric ribbon with hearts on which I will use with the fabric.

Very thoughtful parcel for this swap.
So thank you very much Stephanie ( also a thank you on my Instagram page) the LOVE has been swapped.

I have a crazy patchwork Workshop tomorrow with 5 lovely ladies and i shall post some pictures here and on my Facebook page.
have a good weekend.

Send a little love swap

Has been a while since I blogged as I was having trouble getting my photos but I think that I have solved it now.
My swap partner was Stephanie from Calico heart and I decided to send the following:
A hand stitched felt heart with heart shaped buttons.  Long time readers will recognise this as I have made this before.
I also made loads of oil cloth purses a while back and I thought that Stephanie would like this one for perhaps car parking change etc.  You can get a set of keys in this too.
I also added a tin of chocolates, a heart shaped hard backed notebook which I thought was brilliant!  A bright red beanie hat which I could not resist when I saw it in a shop.
Everything has arrived all safe and sound and the hat will be worn during break duty at Stephanie's school!
Tomorrow I shall post the lovely items sent to me.
Take care all.

Workshop dates

Finally sorted out my phone sync issues.. All by myself so I am feeling quite chuffed with myself.  This is why, because i have so much stored on my phone these days that getting access to it is quite useful.  The camera is better than my little digital and I use it a lot during my workshops.

Hopefully you can see above the poster that has been on my Facebook page regarding my workshops.  I started these last April with the first one being held in June.  Since then they have been full and I could have added even more sessions.
The first two are fully booked subject to confirmation and 2 places have gone for the bag making.

So if you live nearby and fancy trying something new or dusting off those sewing skills that get in touch.  they are so much fun and the amount of laughing that goes on it is any wonder that we get anything made.  More pictures on my facebook page but now that I have gained access to my phone I shall be able to post more images here and much faster too.
I have sent off my Send a little Love swap today and as soon as I know that my partner has received it  I shall post more details here.
I shall stop there as it is 2.15am but i have been ill with the most awful head cold in years that is very close to full on flu that i can not sleep due to everything aching hence the early morning post.  A nice cuppa has been drunk so perhaps I should try and get back to sleep again.
