Christmas Swap.... where did it go??

I set up the swap (was delighted with the interest and thank you all for entering) made my items, collected some goodies, found a box spent 1.5 hours wrapping and packing my swap. Sent it off on 24th November and.....................it did not arrive. So poor Nan, who had not taken part in a swap before, waited and waited and waited and waited some more. A special spot had been left on Nan's tree for my decoration and nothing arrived to fill it. We thought by the New Year! Still no. On Monday I emailed Nan to say that I wanted to send another parcel. I was disappointed, hopeful and then down right annoyed that the parcel may have gone missing.

Then..... an email from Nan! Yes at long last when we have all given up the parcel had arrived on Nan's doorstep. Could she open it, No Nan had to go to a dentist appointment. Blast, foiled again. However, after having had lunch Nan was able to open it. This has been logged stage by stage on her blog. Pop over as some of her pictures are better than mine.

So what was in the parcel?.....

Started off with a lovely box which I decorated with pink tinsel because pink is Nan's favourite colour.

A card to start off the fun.

Then some knitting supplement that come with my knitting magazine that will be better used by Nan than by me. Although some of the knitted items I would love to be able to do but I need to get much better at reading patterns first!

A cross stitch kit because I seem to remember Nan mentioning this craft is one of her posts, I have been following for some time so I can not remember when exactly.

A re-useable jute bag from the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Some Eden Project tissues and chocolate.

Some instructions for making a beaded bauble fringe, some Christmas fat quarters, instructions for making a bag and the fabric to have a go at it. I think that is all of the fun bits, now for the main event....

oooohh, what could be in this red box I wonder?
Two decorations, one is a star shape which is made from craft felt with snippets of organza hand stitched on with gold seed beads then more seed beads added. This is on both sides of the decoration. The star is stitched together with embroidery threads and along the edge More seed beads have been added. Then pearls have been added to each point. It is then got a length of red ribbon to hang it from.

Next....

This one is round and constructed the same way but this time around the edge I have put some bugle beads, a tassel and a red flower where the tassel joins the decoration. Both of these were carefully put in the box with some gold tissue paper.

Here is a close up of the round decoration. I was really pleased with the way they turned out which was why I was so concerned that they would never see the light of day!!

Thank goodness it all turned out well in the end.

xx

Oh, your pictures of the decorations are SO much better then mine, I should have thought to take them out side for the natural light! Silly me!

It was well worth the wait, and I am enjoying everything so much, even if it's just at the looking at it stage! I really do appreciate all your thoughtful gifts! Thank you again! Hugs!

Wow - what a boxful of loveliness. I especially love that red star. It's so frustrating when the postal service takes so long - but such a relief when the parcel gets there in the end! x

How awful they took so long to get there, but they look so beautiful. They just wanted to make a grand entrance.
